Are you “F-ing it up” enough to WIN?

Let’s talk “F-ing it up.” Now, before you run to the bathroom to get the soap with to wash out my mouth…please hear me out!

When I think of business success there are a few words that sum up the path to riches and results, and today, just like Sesame Street – you guessed it – they all start with the LETTER F.

Let’s run through this checklist to make sure you have enough of these F’s in your life & biz!

FOCUS.

Oooh love this one. If you find yourself spending too much time on the erroneous, things that don’t matter to your business or creativity, or your well-being – you aren’t Focus-ing it up enough to create the biz and life you desire and you will constantly feel like you are throwing mud at the wall. Like you are working, working, working, catching up, putting out fires…yet never seem to get ahead, get any traction or momentum. Like you don’t have time to pursue other pleasures, too.
Like, “How can I be working so much, ‘always ON,’ but not have the results or the moolah to show for it?”

It’s probably a Focus issue. Knowing what to focus on and when is paramount to business success.

When you can REALLY FOCUS on what you need to, distraction-free, MAGIC starts to happen.

Except it isn’t quite magic. It’s the result of FOCUS.

FAITH.

I’m all for strategy and systems and marketing and no-nonsense business building goodness! There is, however, an element that cannot be overlooked. Faith. It helps to have faith that good things will happen, a certain positive expectation. It can be spiritual faith, you can call it G-d, Source, law of attraction, whatever you like.
It can (and should) also be faith in yourself, in your abilities, integrity and your work ethic and the beauty and purpose of your mission.

Here’s how I also like to approach Faith: There is a space of faith that exists, that I would call a surrender. Surrender to what will be. To say to yourself, “I have done everything I could do today. I gave it my all.” (Some days it’s more, some less) “It was not perfect, and tomorrow is another day, and I will do the best I can. What is meant to be will be, and whatever happens, I will continue my mission tomorrow…and next year and the year after that.”

But want to know what tends to happen when you truly / deeply surrender?

Your results start to change. The MAGIC starts to happen. There you are, you sneaky little magic, you! I knew you were hiding somewhere!

FAILURE.

Mmmhmm. Failure is a crucial component of success. It’s not the opposite of success. Too many entrepreneurs fear failure, and it prevents them from becoming as awesome – as BIG – as they want to be!

Listen…nobody LIKES to fail. But ya gotta! Not enough FAILURE = not enough SUCCESS. No other way around it. So, fail-it-up, friend!

Dare to DO. To take a few chances! To put yourself out there, to be rejected…to utterly botch it! (Yes, I suppose that kind of “F-ing it up, too).

Dare to FAIL. It means you are DOING and you will get better!

If you are not failing enough, it may be a sign that you are not stretching enough, that you need to move a little out of your comfort zone and take a bigger leap – or two. EMBRACE FAILURE!
